Our Story

We’re not the largest electrical contractor in the valley and we don’t do a lot of advertising; we prefer to devote our resources to our projects and have our quality work, and our satisfied customers speak for us.

We opened our Eugene shop in 1972 and Eugene continues to be our corporate headquarters while working on a wide variety of projects across Oregon. Over the past four decades, Scofield Electric has consistently combined reliability with flexibility; extending our operations base to other cities and states when practical, always continuing to serve our customer base.

Our Philosophy

We prefer to keep a core group of steady employees working year-round, adding additional crew members as needed by seasonal demand or construction schedules. Most of our core group of employees have been with us for over ten years. We’re able to give them opportunities to develop new skills and work in areas in which they perform best. Everyone on the crew has different strengths and work experiences, which we use to run various types of projects efficiently.

Another advantage to having a long-term crew is when renovating or expanding a previous project, the foreman and crew who once worked on the job will often have valuable insight regarding how to best accomplish the new work. This is especially useful in design-build projects where close contact with the Owner, General Contractor, Subcontractors, and State regulations will provide a complete and satisfying result.

Our Values

Most than just words to the employees at Scofield Electric. We perform quality work that meets and exceeds code requirements and the expectation of our customers. Our electricians take pride in the work they install and we want our customers to have pride in the finished product. By performing quality work and taking pride in what we do, Scofield Electric has the integrity and history to stand behind our installations.

Construction is a team endeavor and Scofield Electric understands that all members of the team must work as one, with one goal, to provide a quality finished product. Since 1972 Scofield Electric has endeavored to work with, and cooperate with, everyone associated with the project in order to provide a completed project that exceeds the original expectations.

I've had this company do several repairs both on my business building and on my parents house. They were prompt, fair on pricing and definitely know what they're doing. I have nothing but good to say about them.

This place may have good electric service, I really don’t know, but they have terrible customer service. If being treated as a valuable person or entity is important to you, this is not your place. I run a small Airbnb in Florence, OR and a guest reported a wall heater had stopped working on a recent cooler June day. I called Scofield in Eugene for help. They charged $150 per hour and he replaced a small wall heater that costs about $130 on line. They charged me over $900 for the three and a half hour job. Being a business owner, I know the distance between Eugene and Florence having driven it a hundred times. Still, Scofield insists it was an hour longer job than it was and overcharged for the heater. I tried to reach the the owner, but was diverted to the office manager by a curt and noncaring telephone assistant. The office manager insists that $900 was their final price even though the “bill was already in the mail” without final discussion with me who was obviously attempting to negotiate the bill. The office manager would not budge on price saying it’s “union”. Their high priced electrician problems should not result in outrageous and untrue increased customer’s bills. My experience is that they did not value my opinion or my side of the story and the fact that they sent a bill without completing our bill negotiations, proves that.

I asked for an appt and the receptionist said someone would call to schedule. The next morning someone called and said they were on their way. I didn't have anytime to prepare, as in move furniture away from the problem areas. I presented him three straightforward issues that I need help with. I'm not electrician which is why I called. He got really confused and left abruptly.

These guys are great. They've gone out of their way to accommodate us after a house fire. The electricians are smart and personable.
